Big Life Changes Going on Right Now
Feeling a mix of happy, confused and neutral
Hey everyone its been a little bit. I just graduated with my bachelors in data science like last week you know type shit. Commencement was alright sat around got my name called friends and family were there it was nice. I also just started my new internship this week as a data engineer I’m gonna get to work a mix of traditional data engineering, work as well as MLOps and some other so that will be cool will probably make another post out of that as I get deeper into the work.
This is just gonna be a brief update checking in but ya officially post-grad not gonna lie it feels a bit weird, like that was it undergrad is over. I feel like I got all that I wanted out of university so no real regrets on that regard. But I dont know I thought I’d be more excited for all of this but it just feels like business as usual.
I also have a full time offer independent of my current internship so it feels like I can work and request to be on projects I find interesting rather than be on the whims of my team since I have something to fall back on. Also I have been interviewing around at a few companies and things look to be promising so sorry for everyone who is struggling in this tech job market but git gud lmao (I’m joking). Idk tho not having the pressure to find a job post grad is quite liberating when working other roles before starting full time. So any of you reading this that are still in school yes grind and apply for roles just do everything in your power to improve your chances of getting offer there is no such thing as shame being a student or new grad everyone starts somewhere.
There is some stuff that I was thinking of trying in the future like maybe trying to make some videos where I just rant about shit and talk about just stuff I find interesting but we will see. I’m gonna make some posts about my job as I get more into it as well as books, tech and stats topics I have been reading up on. But ya that’s all for now stay on the look out for my next post.
