Back from the Philly trip!

Very eventful few days excited to share.

Traveling to Philly (ong fuck St. Louis)

So to start from the beginning I guess first of all I just wanna say fuck this stupid war in the middle east again. Why on earth are the same tickets I bought a year ago to philly double the price actually stupid. Second of all I had to do a layover in St. Louis and my god was that a boring ass city and airport the only place that seems worse is Cleveland. When I was there I got some food and the bartender actually had me thinking I was slow. I tried to pay with cash and bro was just staring at my and walking by for like 5 minutes but thats besides the point.

So ya I end up landing in philly at like midnight damn near, I was not ready for the cold especially coming from the temp drop from Phoenix. I was staying near Temple University if y’all know where that is. But ya pulled up to the library on Temple campus it felt a little weird being around the campus this time around cause school was actually in session. Also fun fact they have a bar legit on campus with pretty decent pizza I will say I wish Arizona had that. But ya didnt really do much that first night just chopped it up for a little and crashed

Day 1

So like on the first day my boy had class so I went out and explored the area around campus and grabbed breakfast. My boy had to finish some work so we chilled at this nice coffee shop in town and it was pretty chill for the most part. Then later that night we pulled up to a roof top bar where I got to meet my buddies friends for the first time. It was nice to see people ive been hearing about for a minute. We chopped it up at the bar for a bit then took an uber back to one of his friends apartments (forgive me for not remembering names idk why they aren’t coming to me) got to properly talk with everyone and my boy chefed up some amazing chicken and spaghetti and just overall a pretty chill first night. It was also so nice that we were walking distance back to his apartment god bless walkable cities.

Day 2

On day two we had some more stuff planned we visited a place called grafitti pier. Over all pretty nice grafitti and nice spot, we also went to like this more hipster part of philly called Northern Liberties, the cafe we went to was called Cafe La Maude highly recommend checking it out if ur ever in philly. After all that was done, I had planned before hand to meet a friend who lives in philly. I’ve known this guy for like I think the better part of a decade, we actaully met playing Destiny on playstation, we had met up before during my last visit to philly. We met up in chinatown and had some pretty good hand made noodles the place was called Spice C also recommend checking that spot out. After that we went back to the apartment chilled for a little bit then went over to the pregame for a houseparty we were going to. I will say it was a bit of I guess a culture shock how different house parties are in the east coast vs Arizona. The parties are definitely I guess more intimate like its more close friends or people you know decently well compared to well here you come and go from the function and you don’t really have to know the host real well.

We were at the function for a bit I think till like 2am, there was a warehouse rave that we were planning on going to, but I ended up tapping out and going back to the apartment. Some of them ended up going to the rave, I ended up finding out the next morning well it wasn’t that great I guess it was kind of dead by the time they got there so I guess I had the better ending to the night.

Day 3

So for the final day in philly, I had planned to meet up with a friend who had recently moved to for grad school in Philadelphia. Shout out to her for calling us like an hour before we were supposed to meet thinking we might be sleeping she was right. We pushed it back by 30 minutes and headed out to meet at a coffee shop. It was really good to see here again. We chopped it up for a bit then went to a resturant for lunch then headed out to the Philadelphia museum of art. It was pretty cool ngl I did not know there was a statue of rocky there so that was a nice surprise.

After that we went to the mall for a bit, then after we went to this parking garage to get some nice pictures and unfortunately the gate was locked so ya. We were walking around in the rain trying to figure out where to go and ended up going back to her apartment. I just need to say I dont think I have been to a cooler building for an apartment, and I am jealous of the apartment if I move to philly I will be moving into those apartment. We ended up chopping it up for a while and saw her grandma playgirl magazine which was interesting. Then around like 10:30pm we left, walked down a few blocks and actually got some Ethiopian food. Never had it before but after that experience I will be having it in Arizona actual 10/10. Then after that around 2:30am I got an uber and headed to the airport and made my way back to Arizona.

Back in AZ

Well I am back in Arizona now and I wish I was back in Philadelphia great second trip and has honestly improved my already positive feeling baout the city. I definitely want to find a job and move out there in the next couple years who knows maybe for grad school. I cant wait to go back to just Pennsylvania in general who knows maybe I will find myself in another part of PA. I am leaning towards grad school in Pittsburgh but we shall see.

Thank you for reading and I will be back with my next post soon.
